Chocolate Yogurt Cookies

I think I found my new favorite cookie recipe!!!

These. Are. AMAZING!!! If you have ever had a Ghiardelli Chocolate Pazookie from BJ’s restaurant, just close your eyes and imagine gooey, chocolate richness for a moment… yeah, that’s what these taste like. I almost cried the first time I took a bite of one of these!

The ingredients are super simple, not even requiring an egg. And they were super quick and easy to make. I know this all sounds too good to be true, so go test it and see for yourself!

(Note: I used French Vanilla yogurt that I had on hand, and our home ground flour)

Banana Base Ice Cream!

We made banana ice cream!!!

And it was sooooo good! It was very simple: Freeze strawberries and bananas, blend with half and half, and enjoy!

You can find the original recipe that we used HERE.

(Note: Scroll down to the third recipe. Note 2: We used half and half instead of almond milk.)

Ginger Cookies!

I had to share this new cookies recipe that I found via Pinterest a few weeks ago… it is AMAZING!

I decided I wanted to find a cookie recipe on Pinterest to try out and boy am I glad I chose this one! It’s actually a Better Homes & Gardens recipe for giant ginger cookies. I tried making a giant one, but I like to stretch the dough and get more cookies from one recipe… even if it means they’re smaller.;) I made the dough balls about an inch big and changed the baking time to 9 min.

Streusel Bars

We recently tried this recipe for streusel bars from Better Homes and Gardens, these bars are amazing!!! We actually made them twice! The first time we used raspberry jam and the second time we did blackberry, both were great!

I typed up the recipe here—

Wilton’s Cake Leveler

I just wanted to share one of my favorite tools for cake making, Wilton’s Cake Leveler! You can buy it Here for only $3.49! You can use it to level off the top of your cakes (my cakes always used to crack because I never leveled them) or to make thin layers of cake. I recently made a chocolate birthday cake using the leveler to make thin layers of cake with chocolate icing in between them.

Cookie Painting!

I love brothers! Mine like to mess with projects that I’m working on, which can be annoying sometimes but they do give me good ideas once in a while.

I was decorating cookies the other day and had some food coloring laying around to color my icing with. I had a few cookies already decorated and set aside. Pretty soon someone was asking me if it was alright to “paint” one of the decorated cookies with some of the food coloring. I said it was OK and turned back to the cookie that I was decorating not thinking much about it. When I looked back at the cookie that was being painted I saw how nice the color was staying! I wanted to try it too!

So I did!

It is so hard to get colors like this in icing, who knew that I would learn about a decorating technique like this from a brother messing around! ;)

I will definitely be using this method of coloring in the future!

Chocolate Lace Pie

This is a recipe that I created for Thanksgiving in 2009. It is basically a pudding pie with caramel and nuts floating around in the bottom. You can’t really cut it, more like scoop it!:) I think it would cut nicely if it was served frozen, like an ice cream pie.
