Here is another project using some of the wonderful fabric from my aunt, the rusty pillow! I love decorating with rusty colors!!! Dark shades of pink and green are amazing too, but I love this rust color! I used two of the fabric squares cutting one of them in half for the opening in the back. The pillow form is 16″x16″.

Last year my aunt received fabric squares from a friend, and she gave three boxes to me! I went crazy! All of the fabric was so beautiful and my mind was full of all sorts of ideas, but there was one piece that I just knew what I was going to do with it!
A shoe bag!!!
It was the perfect size to make a shoe bag for traveling! And all of the embroidered shoes on it were just perfect! Add a little ribbon, more fabric for the back, some thread…
Now whenever I travel I can put my not-overly-clean spare shoes in this bag and not worry about them getting everything else dirty! 😉
I love drying bouquets! It’s such a neat process, and I love having the dried flowers to decorate with! I always enjoy fresh flowers for a few days before putting them up to dry, but I think I enjoy seeing the dried flowers almost as much as the fresh ones. Here is my bouquet from the Sleeping Beauty show, before and after drying.
I am in love with this bonnet!!! It is soooo cute! And it knit up so quickly, it practically flew off the needles! I found the pattern here. I made it last year wanting a quick and easy knit and this was perfect!
About two or three years ago I made this bag and it didn’t turn out how I imagined it would, so I set it aside for awhile. Later that year I tried to fix it up with a little embroidery and was very pleased with the result, and decided to give it to Mommy for her birthday that year. I added the button and flap to keep the bag closed better, and I also made the cover on the button. For the button cover I just knit a (mostly) round piece in stockinette, placed it on the button and flipped it over, and then sort of gathered all of the outer sides by sewing the outer edges and then pulling them together like you would for the top of a hat. Hope that made sense!
I just love small projects! I made this hat last year, and it knit up so quickly! I was inspired by this pattern. The band is moss stitch (or seed stitch, I can’t remember) and the rest is stockinette. It is very small, probably preemie. I like it!
I used Caron Simply Soft yarn for this scarf. I made this on a car trip with a lace pattern that I had and wanted to try out on something. I didn’t block it (lazy), but it doesn’t curl on the edges too bad. 😀
